The Bastard Gods of Olkhar

The Bastard Gods of Olkhar

From Grimble Crumbol’s  The World of Olkhar Volume I, On the Matter of the Many Faiths.

There are many gods in addition to the Family, the most worshipped trio of gods on our side of the world. While the Mother, Father, and Son all project a certain wholesomeness, many worship outside this group. Indeed in addition to the main deities, there is an entire pantheon known as the Bastard Gods.

The most infamous of these in our kingdom is Carrfold, the demigod of doing a half assed job, but there are many others. Rina, the Goddess of the Hangover is both cruel and once she has accepted your sacrifice, merciful. There is also the tricky Perishel, the Goddess of having good luck but only after something really bad happens first. And there are many more, gods whose tendency to give, but at a cost, reflects the true nature of our reality.

For all of the official talk of the Family, for all the cathedrals built to the Father, it is the Bastard Gods that tend to have observable effects in people’s lives.
